- 111 years of experience: Founded by Louis Upton in 1919, the company got its start by converting manual clothes washers and fitting them with motors. This small company grew in size and scope to become the trusted appliance company we know today.
- Manufacturing in the U.S.: 80 percent of the products that we sell in the U.S. are manufactured in the U.S. and provides almost 30,000 jobs in manufacturing in America which in turn, strengthens local communities. Among its various facilities, its Cleveland, Tennessee plant was the first of Whirlpool Corp.’s manufacturing facilities to become LEED-certified showing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Fast-forward to 2021, Whirlpool Corp. once again worked with NASA to help develop a zero-gravity refrigerator that will allow for long-term storage on extended missions to space.
