The design of my kitchen necessitated a down-draft cooktop, and there were not a lot to choose from in a 36" that weren't a fortune. Kitchenaid has served me well with my very old stand mixer, so I took a chance their cooktops would be just as reliable. A few weeks in and so far, so good. The burners have good btu output and the top is easy to keep clean. Downdraft is quiet and seems to work efficiently. I especially like the isolated large burner for bigger pots.
