Janitor
Reports to: Kitchen Store Manager
Pay Range: $13.50-$15 per hour
Basic Function
Maintain clean store facilities. Sweep and mop floors, pick up trash and debris, maintain clean restroom and break room facilities. Perform other assignments as required. Operate in a professional, ethical and courteous manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and alignment with Company values, mission, and vision.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Daily:
Report to Kelly’s main store for general janitorial:
- Including front window cleaning, restroom maintenance, vacuuming, elevator cleaning etc. Clean Kelly’s furniture store 3 days per week and clean upstairs weekly. Average 4 hours each day (approximately 20 hours per week)
- Mop main store floor (must be done before store opens at 9am)
- Empty all trash containers and ensure none are overfilled during shift. (Includes offices and break room areas)
- Clean restrooms and ensure towels and other supplies are adequate. (Includes porcelain cleaning and mopping floors)
- Clean employee break room (clean tables, mop floors, wipe sink)
- Mop tile floor in showroom
Weekly, at Kelly’s Furniture (approximately 4-6 hours per week):
- Vacuum Weekly
- Clean Front windows as needed, minimum weekly
Daily:
- Clean restrooms and ensure towels and other supplies are adequate. (Includes porcelain cleaning and mopping floors)
- Ensure supplies inventory is adequate: order supplies as needed, with adequate lead time, with the AP manager.
Relationships:
The Janitor will report to the Kitchen Store Manager and work very closely with the HR manager and mangers of the individual stores, and occasionally the Company President.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to sweep, mop, dust overhead, empty garbage cans and other janitorial functions on a continuous basis.
- Ability to repetitively lift and occasionally carry accessories weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including possible Saturdays.
- Ability to work positively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug including marijuana tests, and a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Spanish or Eastern European Languages.
- Ability to possibly work at other locations in the Salem area.
