this refrigerator has a design defect that samsung needs to address. every 6 months the drain freezes into an iceberg and i have to empty out the fridge and defrost for more than 24 hours in order to clear the jam. i have the refrigerator set to the recommended temperature and even bought a separate ice machine so i didn't open the door as much. i am defrosting it yet again today. when i start it backup i'm going to turn off the ice maker and run it a few degrees warmer in freezer and fridge than recommended and see how many months it takes to develop another iceberg, of course all of the food will go bad faster and i won't be able to use the ice maker that i paid for. i regret buying samsung appliances and will never again purchase any.

the freezer started failing after 4 months. samsung sent out a repair people multiple times who couldn’t diagnose the issue. i was told that since their repair person couldn't diagnose it, they "wouldn't be doing anything else on this issue.” had to threaten to sue before they agreed to do an exchange. i asked if i would have to load the old fridge up and bring it in when i went to pick up the new one, and was told no. i drove a couple towns away to the store, only to find they did expect the old fridge back. called samsung back, was lied to by several agents, and finally got to someone who told me "even if that's what you were promised, we won't be honoring it." took me weeks of 4-6 hour long calls to get a replacement for an in-warranty refrigerator. stay away from samsung appliances!

i'd give zero stars if it were possible. this is a lemon. i've had repairmen visit multiple times due to problems with the freezer. the temperature reads -2 but the food in the freezer keeps defrosting. it is likely due to the icemaker overflowing and blocking the door from fulling closing. i have to empty the ice been constantly, to no avail. i've had to throw out hundreds of dollars of food. one repairman told me that samsung was aware of the flaw but had no fix. so, i guess i'm out of luck. neither the manufacturer nor the retailer (home depot) give a care about making it right.

ice spills out all over the floor every time you open the freezer drawer. there is no mechanism to let the ice maker know it is full. ice spills everywhere.
