FAQ
What type of brands do you sell at Kelly’s Appliances?
We sell ranges in all different price points. From our basic models, to our Premium, all the way to our luxury brands. We sell Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, GE, GE Profile, Monogram, Jennair, Miele, Cafe, SKS, Wolf, Thermador, and more.
How long do ranges last?
The national average for appliances is 8 years. We tend to see traditional ranges last anywhere from 8 to 10 years. Of course, you can see ranges last less than that or more than that. We really wish we could tell you that you can get 20 years from your machine, but that’s not the reality in some cases.
What is better, gas or electric?
Many people don’t have the choice between gas or electric - it just depends on the availability in the home. However, for those building a new home, there is a decision to be made. Gas or electric? If you were to ask us 20 years ago which one is better we would say gas. Gas has the ability to heat up immediately (because there is a flame) and you can adjust the temperature seamlessly. This offers precise cooking.
However, with the new implementation of induction cooking, electric has come back into the race. With induction, you can get precise and concise cooking.
Now, it is a pretty even comparison. So, it just comes down to what you think looks better and what fits with the aesthetics of your home.
What does induction mean?
Instead of using gas flames or electric heating elements, induction cooktops create heat inside the cookware itself through electromagnetic induction. This means that the cooktop isn’t getting hot and heats everything that it touches. It only is heating up the cookware that is compatible with induction.
Is convection really worth the hype?
Yes, Convection refers to a cooking method that uses a fan and exhaust system inside an oven to circulate hot air evenly around the food. That means that you won’t have to worry about the back of your food getting hot while the front of your food remains frozen. If you are dealing with burnt cookies in the back, then it might be because you don’t have a convection.
