Kelly's Top Dishwasher Picks for 2021
If you're in the market for a new dishwasher, the amount of options out there is almost staggering.
But fret not! Our appliance experts here at Kelly's know their stuff and are more than happy to share their knowledge with you on this staple kitchen appliance. Here are some models of our best-selling dishwashers for 2021.

First up, let's take a look at Beko's, which comes in white, black, or stainless steel, and starts at just $519. While most dishwashers at this price point opt for a cheaper plastic tub, Beko has chosen to include a higher quality stainless steel tub in this dishwasher. This model also includes an adjustable upper rack, allowing more flexibility to accommodate either taller stemware or larger pots and pans, depending on your needs. Beko's automatic wash cycle utilizes a “turbidity sensor,” which measures how dirty the water is (and therefore how dirty the dishes are) and adjusts the water pressure accordingly, resulting in cleaner dishes. The leak-proof tub makes sure you won't find any unwelcome surprises at the end of the cycle, and things are kept quiet too, with this model registering 48 dBA – around the volume of a quiet office. And to finish it all off, Beko includes with all their products a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, double the industry standard. Not bad, if you ask us.
Next, we have the KitchenAid KDFE204, available in Stainless Steel, White and Black. Starting at $999, this dishwasher has a stainless steel interior tub and an adjustable middle rack, similar to the Beko model. The KitchenAid also has a heat dry option, which uses a traditional drying element to ensure all dishware types get dried. This model also offers a number of different cycles, including a ProWash cycle, which uses sensors to detect how tough or difficult the cooked-on food might be, adjusting the time and temperature of the load to match the job at hand. Or, for those loads that just need a quick, standard cleaning, the express cycle will do the trick at an expedited pace, leaving you with clean dishes when you need them. And at 39dBA, this is the quietest dishwasher on our list.
Bosch's 500 series of dishwashers offers great features and starts at just $999. Engineered in Germany, Bosch has been rated by a popular consumer magazine to be one of the most reliable appliance brands on the market for years on end. Bosch touts itself as the quietest dishwasher brand in North America, which is understandable, given the low rating of 44 dBA. And with a dishwasher so quiet, Bosch has conveniently included their Infolight, which shines a small red light on the floor when the machine is running, which then disappears when the cycle is complete. The AutoDoor feature pops the door open at the end of a cycle to jump start the drying period. And finally, Bosch has included a non-traditional heating element, meaning that the lower rack is safe for thinner plasticware that is susceptible to melting in most dishwashers. The 500 series represents the middle of the road when it comes to Bosch's dishwashers and provides a great value at the price.
Another great consideration is the KitchenAid KDTM604, starting at $1169. This model carries a couple features over from the KDFE204. Kitchenaid describes their FreeFlex top rack of the KDTM604KPS as “largest third rack available,” with a design that fits 6” glasses, mugs, and bowls. In addition to having room for glasses and bowls (unlike most third racks), KitchenAid has added an extra two spray arms to this top rack, making this one of the best cleaning third racks on the market. The Fan Enabled ProDry system adds a fan to push the hot air around after a cycle is complete, thus drying dishware that much more effectively. Whereas most dishwashers (including the others on this list) have removable filters that must be cleaned by hand, the KDTM604KPS has a self-cleaning filter. In addition to the self-cleaning feature, the microfiltration system works mid-cycle to make sure the water used to wash the dishes is clean, therefore making it easier on delicate glassware when washed alongside dirtier pots and pans. With all these great features, it's easy to see why this is one of the best dishwasher offerings of 2021.
So there you have it, a few different options at a few different price points, each a well working machine to help your kitchen run that much more smoothly.
