What Dishwasher Should I Buy?

- Dishwashers
I am a mom of four kids and we do many dishes in our house. Where did all of the dishes come from? I don’t know. But, alas, we needed to get a new dishwasher. I knew I was going to Kelly’s Appliance for my dishwasher, but I was completely overwhelmed by the options - it seemed like every one of them would work. I did some research and I wanted to help others in their buying journey so I created a buying guide from the consumer perspective.
Let us dive into the dishwasher world and explore some of the best dishwashers on the market!
Bosch 800 Series
Model #SHP78CM5N
Through my research, I learned that you can’t go wrong with a Bosch dishwasher - regardless of series. I love the 800 series though. What immediately attracted me to this model was that it has Precision Wash that targets the dirtiest dishes. I especially loved this because then I wouldn’t have to worry about scrubbing my dishes before putting a load in. Talk about a time-saver!
Then on top of the precise cleaning, it also allows dishes to dry faster than other dishwashers by using the patented CrystalDry. Do you ever open up your dishwasher and they are still a little damp? That won’t be an issue with the Bosch 800 series. No more putting wet dishes into cupboards.
There’s a third rack to put all types of utensils like spatulas and stirring spoons. This keeps things organized, out of the way of the silverware, and also provides a more focused clean. The height can be adjusted to accommodate your specific needs.

KitchenAid with Max Jets
Model #KDTM604KPS
The coolest part about this dishwasher is the amount of power jets it has throughout. It has 50 jets that spray around the entire appliance. That’s right, 360 degrees of clean!
This is the only dishwasher on the market that offers self-cleaning filtration. Typically, you need to clean out the dishwasher frequently because food gets caught and then you are essentially spraying dirty water back on your dishes. With this dishwasher, it will continuously capture food particulars, so that it's only spraying clean water. Then, it will clean itself as the dishwasher drains!
Do you have a big family and need extra capacity? Look no further! This is one of the largest dishwasher tubs on the market which allows for extra dishes to be cleaned. This dishwasher gives you a better chance at not having to do multiple loads.

GE Profile Energy Star
I think that my favorite aspect of this dishwasher is the use of Microban. Basically, it protects the dishwasher so that you aren’t getting unwanted bacteria growth within your appliance. Nobody wants that, am I right? It keeps things 99% cleaner than other dishwashers that don’t have the Microban technology. So, that’s pretty great. And because of the Microban technology it also eliminates odor which makes the dishes smell a lot better.
As a busy mom, I found that the patented Piranha Hard Food Disposer was quite amazing. I sometimes don’t have time to scrub all of my dishes and pre-rinse them. I just want to put the dishes straight into the dishwasher. Well, with this dishwasher you can do exactly that! The GE Profile Energy Star dishwasher will pulverize food particles without jamming the unit. The arms will remain unclogged and you will get an exceptional clean.

Maytag Power Blast Cycle
Model #MDB8959SKZ
Maytag is one of the most known names on the market because they consistently hold up their reputation. They are continually coming up with new ways to provide the best appliances for you and that certainly includes dishwashers. When I was doing my research, I found that this particular washer has what’s called PowerBlast Cycle. Basically, it’s a really strong blast of water that will remove stubborn foods such as eggs, peanut butter (which is the worst), and even dried oatmeal. The PowerBlast Cycle is high temperature and has an increased pressure water jets. We all know how frustrating it is to take out “cleaned” dishes that still are crusted with food particles.
And speaking of food particles, this awesome dishwasher also has Dual Power Filtration. What does that mean, you ask? It means you don’t have to pre-soak and pre-rinse your dishes. It combines 100% microfiltration and a 4-blade stainless steel chopper to filter out and then dispose of any food in its path.
Then there is also a Sani Rinse. The Sani Rinse allows for the removal of 99.999% of food soil bacteria - which is due to the high-temperature rinse.

Fisher & Paykel Double Drawer
Model #DD24DV2T9N
The unique aspect of the Fisher & Paykel Double Drawer dishwasher is the fact that it’s essentially two small dishwashers. This is perfect for individuals, or small families. The top and bottom work independently, so you can do a small load of dishes in the top drawer without having to use the bottom drawer. This is a New Zealand-based company that is all about finding solutions. They created this dish drawer for people to be able to have two dishwashers when their kitchen isn’t set up for two full dishwashers. The dish drawers are a great way to keep your sink clean because there is always an empty dishwasher.
