Love my GE appliances

I had to replace my glass cook top after 16 years because one of the front burners was heating up extremely fast. We tried turning the burner down and it would get even hotter. I chose to go with the same product because it lasted 16 years with no problem and I wanted that same experience. The cleaning can be a quiet much at times but I have the proper cleaning solutions for a glass cooktop stove.
A bit disappointed

I would like to state that I had little say in choosing this cooktop, my husband looked at the cooktops and picked this one as it fit in the space we had. I wanted knobs and situated on the side not the front. It took weeks for my husband to decide on this cooktop, the old coil burner had burned out so I had no cooking top for six weeks. I had surgery and could not get to the store to look at the cooktops. When the cooktop arrived and was finally installed it looked very nice, but when I read the instructions I realized that I could not use my cast iron pots and fry pans and would have to buy new Dutch ovens as the bottoms of the ones I have were scratched from the coil burners on the old cooktop. I have only used my All Clad and already two of the burners have pit marks and scratches (6 weeks). The All Clad pots slide on the burners when I am stirring as the top is very slick. The cooktop is easy to clean and I use Weinman polish and cleaner. Will the surface continue to scratch and if so will it damage the heating elements. We have a GE oven bought last year and I really like it.
